Funeral services for Mrs. Lorene (Choate) Pemberton, 81, of Ringling is scheduled for 10 am Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Community Fellowship Assembly of God Church in Ringling with Rev. Ronnie Carroll and Rev. Chad Barron officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
Lorene was born September 11, 1929 at Centerpoint, OK to the late Mr. Ernest E. Choate and Mrs. Annie Loretta (Martin) Choate. She departed this life on Saturday, July 16, 2011 in Oklahoma City.
Lorene was born and raised in Ringling. She married John Drake in Oregon and to this union came three children. She then moved back to Ringling where she married Bill Pemberton and they made her home. Lorene was most commonly known as “Nanny” to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she was very active with every day. She enjoyed the outdoors with all of her family especially making sure that everyone had plenty to eat. She also enjoyed working in her yard and fishing and she lived life to the fullest every day.
Preceding her in death are her parents, daughter, Alpha Jean Drake; son, Johnny (Wayne) Drake; sister, Joy Tanner; and husband Bill Pemberton.
Survivors include daughter, Kathy Dewbre and husband Mickey of Ringling, sisters, Betty Ann Pemberton and husband Barry of Ringling and Ruth Keaton of Lone Grove; brothers, Bob Choate and wife Pat of Ringling and Bill Choate of John Day, Oregon; grandchildren, Gary Dewbre, Tracy Heptinstall, Derek Dewbre, Sean Collett, Johnny Drake and Jeannie Partaka; great grandchildren, Katie, Regan, Shelby, Emmalee, Drew, McKayla, Rikki and Laine; daughter-in-law, Denise Drake of Muskogee; companion Lewis Dover of Ringling.
Pallbearers will be James Anderson, Mickey Worley, Thad Kassheimer, Jamie Whitener, Nathaniel O’quain, Billy Wayne Griffin and Jerry Wayne Dunn.
Family visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home in Ringling.
