Lonnie David Moon

April 15, 1940 — September 29, 2021

Healdton - Private burial services for Mr. Lonnie David Moon, 81, of Healdton are scheduled under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton at Mount Olive Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date on Zoom.

Lonnie was born on Monday, April 15, 1940 in Healdton to the late John William and Anna Lou (Golson) Moon. He departed from this life on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021 at an Ada hospital.

Lonnie was a 1958 graduate of Healdton High School and on October 7, 1961 he married the love of his life, Kenna Lou Whiteley in Ardmore. They were 8 days shy of celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. In 1973, Lonnie dedicated his life to Jehovah and being one of Jehovah's Witnesses was very important to him. He loved to talk to people about the Bible and his hope for the future.

Lonnie was a jack of all trades, but primarily a carpenter. If anything needed fixing, he was the man you went to. He was always so happy to help anyone that needed help. Not only was Lonnie known for his loving and generous heart, but also for his wonderful sense of humor and for his kidlike orneriness. For instance, you never offered him candy unless you really wanted to give it away, because he always took it. Some of his favorite sayings were, "What about the Buffalo", "Fair to partly cloudy", "Rise and shine Frankenstein", and " I don't want a pickle, I just want to ride my motorsickle". All of the children and grandchildren were commonly seen trying to wear his cowboy boots, when they were growing up.

Preceding Lonnie in death were his parents; brothers, William "Son", James, Bobbie George and Johnny Earl Moon and a sister, Mary West.

Survivors include his loving wife Kenna Moon of the home; daughters, Crystal Ross and husband Perry of Henrietta, TX, Julianna Moon of Oklahoma City and Shawn Jewell and husband Charles of Healdton; 10 grandchildren, Mandi, Chelsi, Ashley, Dakota, Amber, Ami, Loni, Chase, Christopher and Cary; 6 great grandchildren, Iris, Harleigh, Jaxxon, Grady, Margaux and Carter, with the addition of 2 more on the way; brother, Joe Moon of Burkburnett, TX; sisters, Marie Oakley of Healdton and Fern Calger of Duncan; sister in law, Rene Walker; numerous other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers will be Chase Jewell, Rickee Wells, Jeremy Stout, Dakota Hensley, Charles Jewell and Chad Walker.

Honorary bearers are Perry Ross, Christopher Ross, Cary Ross and Clay Anderson.
