Lola Lenora Kennedy

Pooleville – Funeral Services for Mrs. Lola Lenora (Bishop) Kennedy, 100, formerly of Pooleville are scheduled for 10:00 AM Wed. January 26, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Hennepin with Roger Sims officiating. Interment will follow at Pooleville Cemetery in Pooleville. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.


Lola Lenora Bishop Kennedy was born February 9, 1910 in Beaver County, Oklahoma to Chancey and Nina Henson Bishop. She left on her final adventure on January 21st at home in Silver Cliff, WI , surrounded by her loving family.


She was a lady of many talents. Over a very full life, she worked as a seamstress at the Chicago Casket Factory in Chicago, Illinois, picking fruit in California during the Dust Bowl, welding Liberty ships in Portland, Oregon during World War II, a nurse’s aide in a Texas nursing home, painting houses in Colorado, operating a beauty salon in Ouray, Colorado, and finally the last 50 years running a ranch in Pooleville OK with her late husband RC Kennedy. Her and R.C.were united in marriage on her birthday in 1962 at Ardmore, OK.


She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, two sisters, and her late husband.


She is survived by her daughters Donna Kennedy of Pooleville, Oklahoma, Carolyn Kenney of Ardmore, Oklahoma, brother Merle Bishop and wife Clara, her niece Riana Ventura and husband Oscar and their children Ahbram and Ozari with whom she has been living the past year and a half in Silver Cliff, Wisconsin. Also survived by her niece Shondi Reynolds of Hayward, Wisconsin and her children Dakota Reynolds of Silver Cliff, Wisconsin, Abril Reynolds, Chandos Reynolds and Kyia Reynolds with son Laden all of Mt Pleasant, Texas.


Family visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Ratliff City.
