Mr. Lindsay "Don" Thomas, 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Leon, Oklahoma, on March 21, 2025. He was born on March 7, 1950, to the late Mr. Lindsay Thomas and Mrs. Axie Elva (Hooker) Wright.
A lifelong resident of Leon, Don graduated from Leon High School in 1969. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard from 1969 to 1975. Following his military service, he worked at the Uniroyal Tire plant for approximately nine years before dedicating the majority of his career to the trucking industry. Don was passionate about his work and enjoyed showcasing his trucks, while also cherishing moments spent fishing, hunting, and exchanging stories with friends.
Don is survived by his significant other, Mary Wright; his daughter, Deana Astiz and her husband Jason of Bedford, Texas; his son, Shane Thomas of Lone Grove; grandchildren Katelyn Alexis Astiz and Mason Thomas; great-granddaughter Madilyn Danielle; as well as a sister, Gayle Shiflett; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bill Wright, Earl Wright, and Denver Thomas.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Leon Cemetery, under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson. Visitation will take place on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will include Aaron Hicks, Colby Barrick, Josh Carlile, Danny Steel Grice, Steven Smith, and Willie Russell. Honorary bearers are Larry Hartman, Mike Morton, Bill Russell, and Joe Russell.
