Graveside services for Linda Lou (Yarberry) Sliger, 75, of Ardmore, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 17, 2025, at Drake Nebo Cemetery in Murray County. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
Linda was born August 4, 1949, at Sulphur, OK, to the late Mr. Lester Jewell Yarberry and Mrs. Roberta Lavern (Hale) Yarberry. She departed this life Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Ardmore.
Raised in Dickson, Linda was an industrious student who graduated with pride in the class of 1967. Her work at Slaughter Co. showcased her dedication and skill, providing invaluable service in electrical safety testing and repairing electronic products. Linda found love and companionship in her marriage to Mr. Glen Sliger on May 1, 1971. Together, they embarked on adventures that took them around the world, particularly during Glen's time with the United States Army, including a memorable period living in Germany. Their union was blessed with one daughter, Angela Nicole Sliger. Glen preceded Linda in death on July 28, 1982, and this loss dramatically altered the course of Linda's life. Her passions infused every aspect of her life; she delighted in attending concerts, camping, and fishing, often seeking solace in the beauty of the outdoors. Linda possessed a creative spark that manifested in various hobbies. Whether it was crocheting, working with ceramics, or solving intricate puzzles, she approached each endeavor with enthusiasm and skill. Her ability to keep her hands busy led her to excel in whatever she tried. Linda enjoyed movies and was particularly fond of the chilling narratives crafted by author Stephen King. These pastimes offered her comfort and joy.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her parents-in-law, and her loving husband, Glen.
Survivors include her daughter Angela Edmonds of Plano, TX; brothers, Leslie Yarberry of Calera, OK and Roger Yarberry of Dickson; sister, Becky Yarberry of Dickson; grandchildren, Glenda Edmonds and Christopher Edmonds both of Plano, TX; nieces and nephews, Amy Turner and husband Tomey, Whitney Hernandez and husband Javier, Katy Stewart and husband Sonny, and Kenzi Black with husband Rocky; great nieces and nephews, Rebecca, Lyndsei, Kyler, Hadly, Kaydince, Rhylinn, Adryanne, and Little Rocky; numerous other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson.
