Linda Presgrove

January 25, 1944 — July 22, 2022

Velma- Funeral Services for Mrs. Linda (Stewart) Presgrove, 78, of Duncan, are scheduled for Friday, July 29, 2022 at 10:00am at the Velma Baptist Church. Rev. Kerry Glasgow will officiate and Interment will follow to the New Velma Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home at Velma.

Linda was born on January 25, 1944, in Pauls Valley, OK to the late Mr. Henry Baxter “H.B.” Stewart and Mrs. Mildred E. (Shahan) Stewart. She departed this life on Friday, July 22, 2022 at her home in Duncan, OK surrounded by loved ones.

Linda grew up in the Velma area and attended school at Velma. She and James Russell “Jim” Presgrove were married on June 30, 1962, in Wichita Falls, TX. Together they had three children; Cody Lynn, Clay Russel, and Corie D’Ann. Linda was a hairdresser and worked in Countyline, Velma, Ratliff City, and Duncan. Through the years she taught countless Sunday School classes, Vacation Bible Schools, volunteered at Falls Creek, and volunteered in the church wherever she was needed. She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. Linda was an
avid Velma-Alma Comet fan and supporter and loved the Velma community. She volunteered at Velma-Alma Elementary’s reading program, Velma Community Food Bank, and she visited and took food to those who were homebound and in the nursing home. Linda was known for her homemade apricot fried pies, cookies, and her chicken and dumplings. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who she loved so much, making sure they all knew the importance in having a relationship with the Lord. Linda was known as “Granny” to all. Sending cards was one of her favorite things to do. Lord knows she wasn’t the best speller, but making people feel special by picking the card out, taking the time to write in it, and sending it to you, trumped her grammar and spelling! She was always trying to perfect growing her flowers and loved feeding and watching the hummingbirds. She touched the lives of so many and all were blessed to have known her.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Jimmy L. Stewart and J.C. Stewart.

Survivors include her children, Cody Presgrove and wife Suzanne of Duncan, OK, Clay Presgrove and wife Lonna of Lone Grove, OK, and Corie Davis and husband Richard of Owasso, OK; brother, Warner Stewart and wife Timmie of Bentonville, AR; grandchildren, Peyton Presgrove, Perri Williams and husband Colten, Nacona Stewart and husband Jeremy, Casen Presgrove and fiance’ Harlie Shaver, Callie Luetkemeyer and husband Cole, and Cade Davis; one great granddaughter, Paisley Williams; other family, church family, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Peyton Presgrove, Casen Presgrove, Cade Davis, Colten Williams, Jeremy Stewart, and Cole Luetkemeyer.

Honorary Pallbearers are the men of the Velma Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 28th from 6-8pm at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Velma.
