Wilson – Graveside Services for Mrs. Linda JoAn (Lester) McMillen, 68, of Wilson is scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2011 at Hewitt Cemetery with Rev. Monte Dean officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Linda was born August 23, 1942 at Purcell, OK to the late Mr. Leonard Lester and Mrs. Ora Lee (Henson) Lester. She departed this life Tuesday September 6, 2011 at a healthcare facility in Midwest City.
Linda was raised as part of a migrant family moving from farm to farm picking cotton. She and Mr. Billy Ray McMillen were united in marriage May 17, 1979 at Wilson. Linda was employed at several different occupations, lastly being employed as a convenient store clerk at Della’s of Wilson. She leaves a behind a strong legacy of a loving woman, who never met a stranger and loved to cook. She also had a green thumb with the ability to grow anything and loved to garden and she enjoyed travelling. She was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding her in death is her Parents, Leonard and Ora Lee; Brothers, Wayne Lester and Donnie McMillen; and a son Jackie Wayne Hill.
Survivors include her husband Bill of the home; 4 Daughters, Debbie White and husband Leroy of Norman, Neta Lewis of Wilson, Janna Boyd and husband Chris of Justin, TX, and Pam McLean and Tommy McLean of Healdton. 7 Sons, Eddy Don Hill and wife Nicki of Velma, Johnny McMillen of Shawnee, Billy “Bo” McMillen and wife Shannara of Healdton; David McMillen and wife Kelli of Fox, Frankie McMillen and wife Sheree of Watonga, Paul McMillen of Alabama, and Timmy McMillen and wife Tamara of Yukon; Sister, Carolyn Monroe of Moore; Brother, Harlan Lester of Phoenix, AZ; Aunt, Gracie Mooney of Moore;30 Grandchildren, Daniel, Darrel, James, Donny, Levi, Joseph, Britanee, Harley, Hannah, Brooke, Nikki, Tiffany, Joey, Jayme, Taylor, Jadyn, Kellie, Dakota, Chance, Brittany, Amanda, Adam, Jason, Shana, Shawnda, Rae, Josh, Miranda, Natasha, and Trevor. 10 Great Grandchildren; Numerous nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Rosie Skelton of Wilson.
Family visitation will be held from 6-9pm Thursday Evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
