Zaneis -Funeral Services for Mrs. Linda Jane (Buck) Williams, 77 are scheduled 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with the Rev. Tyler Shores officiating and Rev. Mike Williams assisting. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson.
Linda Jane (Buck) Williams was born February 12, 1939 in Shady Grove, Texas to Mr. Raymond Foster Buck and Mrs. Winnie (Combs) Buck. She departed from this life on July 1, 2016 at her home in Zaneis.
Linda was raised initially at Nocona, TX moving to Wilson with her family in 1942. She married Mr. L. Mignon Williams on September 28, 1956 in Ardmore. They moved to Tishomingo where Linda graduated high school then Norman and soon there after to Durant as Mignon furthered his education. Soon after finishing college, they moved to Montana and then to New Mexico where Mignon taught at an Indian reservation and Linda babysat local children. They returned home to Zaneis in 1967 where they happily raised their family and spent many years in the education and horse industry. Linda was always a very devoted and adoring wife to Mignon and mother to her children and later her grandchildren. She adored Mignon and was a selfless caregiver to everyone around her but especially to her children, grandchildren and her mother in law Otha. She had a gentle spirit and showed unconditional love and concern to all those around her. Linda had been a member of the Methodist Church of Wilson since childhood.
Mignon preceded her in death on November 14, 1991. She is also preceded in death by her parents; sister Billie Ray; brother Dale; grandson J.L. Williams; and by her parents in law Jap and Otha Williams.
She is survived by her son Wyatt Williams and wife Susan of Soper, OK; daughter Joni Phelps and husband Michael of Zaneis; grandchildren Josh Williams and wife Amanda of Ft. Towson, OK, Parker Phelps and Emma Jo Phelps of Zaneis; great grandchildren Macy Grace Williams and Connor Williams; sisters Verna Ruth O'Neal of Nocona, TX, Bettie Brinkerhoff Roanoke, TX, Mary Adams and husband Lynn of Nocona, TX and Anna Hickman of Nocona, TX; brothers Harold Buck of Falconhead, OK, Glen Buck of Wilson and Don Buck and wife Jeannie of Wilson. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
Pallbearers will be Michael Phelps, Parker Phelps, Josh Williams, Gregg Smith, Scott Phelps and Coly Buck. Honorary bearers will be Don Buck, Glen Buck and Harold Buck.
