Linda Sharon (Dickerson) Baylis, 83, of Duncan, OK passed away on September 1, 2024, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on December 4, 1940, to Leonard and Vesta (Allen) Dickerson and called Pooleville, OK, home for most of her life. She was a gifted student and started her education at the young age of 4, riding a horse to school. She attended both Pooleville and Fox schools before starting her family. She married Harry “Cotton” Weaver when she was 17, and they welcomed three children, Rebecca, Mark, and Bradley. After Harry passed in 1967, she married Ray Hendrix, and they spent several loving years together. After Ray passed in 1985, she married Lavoy “Ruff” Baylis, whom she spent many happy years with until his passing in 2001. Linda returned to school later in life and ultimately graduated from East Central State College in August of 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She spent several years as an educator at Woodrow Wilson Elementary before shifting her focus to her true passion, farming and ranching. She maintained a successful farm in the Arbuckle foothills, which included cattle, hay, and a variety of crops. She also enjoyed traveling for wheat harvest. She was an active member of the industry, serving as Director of the Murray County Farm Bureau and the Arbuckle Conservation District. Also, as the owner of multiple pulling units, she was a member of the Desk and Derrick Club. Linda was a strong, southern woman. She was steadfast in her faith. She was business savvy, and her work ethic was unmatched. All of these qualities she passed down to her children and grandchildren. The foundation she established over the years allowed her to support the dreams and endeavors of her family, and her legacy will live on through them.

Linda was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Weaver, Ray Hendrix, and Lavoy Baylis; her parents, Leonard and Vesta Dickerson; her sister, Thelma Taylor; her brother, Junior Dickerson; her sons, Mark Weaver and Bradley Weaver; and her grandchildren, Natosha Harmon and Sharon Bivings.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Reed and husband, Conrad; her grandchildren, Erik Harmon and girlfriend, Tori, Scott Reed and wife, Mallari, and Guy Weaver and wife, Amanda; her greatgrandchildren, Oliver Reed, Oaklynn Reed, Jimmy Bivings, J.T. Bivings, and Abby Bivings; her nephew, Dr. Charles Dickerson and wife, Kathy; her niece, Beverly Dickerson; her great-nephew, Kirk Dickerson and wife, Phyllis; her great-niece, Dr. Nikki Dickerson; her stepchildren, Sheila, Diane, and Gayla; several step-grandchildren; and numerous other family, friends and loved ones.
