Lavada Skinner

Ringling –Funeral Services for Mrs. Lavada Skinner, 79, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, February 3, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.


Lavada was born September 14, 1932 at Nocona, TX to the late Mr. J.W. Hicks and Mrs. Lillie (McQueary) Hicks. She departed this life Tuesday January 31, 2012 at her home in Ringling.


Lavada was raised in Nocona attending school there. She married Mr. Charlie Dale Skinner June 6, 1950 at Nocona, TX. They lived in Oscar all of their married life together until moving to Ringling in 1991.


Lavada was an excellent seamtress and loved doing ceramics. Her pride and joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ringling.


Preceding her in death Parents, brothers, Tommy & Revis Hicks, and nephew Britt Hicks.


Survivors include: husband Charlie, three children: Son, Mike Skinner & wife Donna of Ringling, daughter, Karen Ryan of Burkburnett, TX and daughter , Debbie Williams & husband Doug of Healdton, 7 grandchildren: Chris Williams & wife Kim of Wylie,TX; Doni Tolliver & husband Jon of Ringling; Scott Skinner & wife Summer of Ringling; Steve Williams & wife Deanna of Rowlett, TX; Kyle Skinner & wife Janea of Oklahoma City; Laurie Benzick & husband Aaron of Prosper, TX & Heather Terkelsen & husband Josh of Little Elm, TX, 14 great grandchildren: Taylor & Madison Williams; Hunter, Case & Easton Tolliver; Logan Miller & Emma Skinner; Preston & Breanna Williams; Jack Skinner; Paige & Adeline Benzick; Andrew & Noah Terkelsen, Sister, VaRue Ingerson & husband Charles, numerous nieces and nephews; Recent caretaker and sister- in- law Ann Bailey.


Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chris & Steve Williams, Scott & Kyle Skinner


Honorary Pallbearers: Jon Tolliver, Aaron Benzick & Josh Terkelsen.


Family visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home in Ringling.
