Lauren Eileen Labeth

June 30, 1986 — December 7, 2021

Lauren was born on June 30, 1986 in Lubbock, TX to Mr. David Douglas Skipper and Mrs. Marilou Eileen (Matteson) Skipper. She departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021 at the OU Medical Center.

Lauren attended school in Abernathy, TX, graduating in 2004. After a tour of colleges, lasting several years, she finally settled on Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Ok where she met her husband Shane. She finished her degree at the University of Oklahoma gaining a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work going toward becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She held several jobs around the OKC area but was happiest when she began her own practice focusing on family and adoption counseling.

Lauren was an avid supporter of the foster and adoption community. This was a vital piece of Lauren’s plan for a family from an early age. This dream came true with the adoption of her daughter Zadie Kaye Labeth on May 6th, 2019. This only grew her love and devotion for this community as she gained an extended family that was, and continues to be, a source of love, support, and inspiration.

Lauren was an active member of the Blanchard church of Christ where she was involved with children’s ministry, women’s event planning, and providing love and support to her Christian brothers and sisters. She was always a shining light of hope and positivity. Even when unable to attend services in person she was always attending from her home through online streaming. Her presence will be greatly missed by all her church family.

Survivors include her loving husband and daughter, Shane and Zadie Labeth of the home. Parents David and Marilou Skipper of Abernathy, Tx. Brother Derek Skipper and wife Leslie of Lubbock. Brother Josh Skipper and wife Cindy of Fort Worth, Tx. Sister Lynsey Copeland and husband Derek of New Deal, Tx. Sister-in-law Bree Labeth of Norman, Ok. Brother-in-law Ty Labeth of Rockledge, Fl.
