Larry Keith Longest

Ringling - Funeral services for Larry Keith Longest, 69, formerly of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Ringling United Methodist Church with Rev. John Marks officiating. Interment will follow at Petersburg Cemetery south of Ringling with military honors. Services are under care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ringling.

Larry was born on May 26, 1951 at Oklahoma City to the late Joann (Bennett) Longest. He departed this life on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Tulsa.

Larry was raised initially in Oklahoma City, moving to Ringling his junior year of high school where he earned the nickname "broom". He graduated from Ringling in 1969 and soon after, he married the former Lana Gandy on August 30, 1969. They were blessed with two boys, Kent and Kevin, mostly residing north of Ringling. Larry worked diligently as an independent insurance agent and as well within the oilfield all of his working years. He owned and operated Longest Insurance Agency of Ringling until moving to Tulsa in 2003, when he primarily focused on his oilfield environmental company named LES environmental.

Larry was always very active within the community of Ringling, whether it was serving as a volunteer fireman or attending the Masonic lodge. He took great pride in being part of the Ringling community and also enjoyed being involved in church. He served several years as a deacon of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and as a young adult he enjoyed attending the Ringling Methodist Church with his parents, Bob and Joann. He was also a very proud veteran of the Army National Guard, serving his country from 1971 to 1976. His favorite past time of all was of course spent at the river or on the water fishing.

Preceding him was his father, Robert "Bob" Carl Longest and most recently his mother, Joann B. Longest.

Survivors include his special companion, Sunee Jackson of Tulsa; sons, Kent Longest of Springer and Kevin Longest and wife Abby of Healdton; sister, Diana Longest of Ardmore; brothers, Owen Longest and Tim Longest and wife Julie, both of Ardmore; aunt, Pat Morris of Ringling; grandchildren, Savannah Longest, Jacob Richardson and Alisha Longest; great grandchildren, Talon, Riley and William Longest; numerous other family and friends.

Casket bearers are the beautiful Owen Longest [ Captain & Quarterback], Mike Gandy, Tim Longest, Gary Lytle, Jim Howard and Brad Butler.

Honorary bearers are Howard Worley, Tommy Bryant, Stanley Barnes, Mickey Morris, Bobby Reid, Matt Morris, Whitey Reid, Terry Don Gandy, Jerry Gandy and Scott Dillon.

Family visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm Friday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ringling.
