Healdton – Funeral Services for Mrs. LaRay (McCarty) Hodges, 77, of Healdton are scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the East Lincoln Church of Christ of Healdton with Scott Renfro and Jared Wilson officiating. Cremation services will follow at the Alexander Gray Crematory.

LaRay was born on Nov. 15, 1946, at Courtney Flatt to the late Mr. Lloyd McCarty and Mrs. Bessie Viola (Welch) McCarty. She departed from this life on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore.

LaRay was raised at Courtney Flatt attending school at Ringling and then later at Turner where she graduated High School. She married Meril Hodges on Jan. 8, 1966, at Wilson. They primarily resided at Healdton where LaRay was employed as a rural route mail carrier for the Healdton Post office. She retired from the post office in 2010 after 30 years of employment. She loved to crochet and work in her flower beds, but above all, being with her family. She and Meril served as foster parents to many children throughout the years and LaRay has been a loyal member of the East Lincoln Church of Christ of Healdton since 1976.

Preceding her in death are her parents and sisters, Nora Jean Peavler and Louise Harris.

Survivors include her devoted husband Meril W. Hodges, Jr. of the home; daughter, Sandra Hodges of Healdton; son, Lynn Hodges of Elmore City; sister, Pat Martin and husband Gary of Healdton; brother, Dewayne McCarty and wife Wetona of Coutney Flatt; 4 grandchildren, Ashley, Cody Angel and Luke; 4 great grandchildren, Hunter, Emma, Porscha and Ronan.

Pallbearers are Kevin Martin, Doug Farris, Clint Blakemore, Hunter Opsahl, Jim Harris, Dewayne McCarty and Ryan Blakemore.

Honorary bearers are Gary Martin, Cody Hodges, Jerry Parsons, Josh Parsons, Jim Doyal, Daniel Farris and all the Men of the East Lincoln Church of Christ.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Monday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton.
