Stobtown- Funeral Services for Mrs. Kiwana Dawn (Everett) McLaughlin, 43, of Lone Grove are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Stobtown Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Royce McClendon officiating. Interment will follow at the Newport Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Kiwana was born on September 28, 1973 at Antlers to James Roy Everett and Melba Jane (Splawn) Everett. She departed this life on Wednesday morning August 9, 2017 at her home north of Lone Grove.
Kiwana was raised primarily as a resident of Lone Grove where she attended school. She graduated from Lone Grove High School in 1991 and soon after married Jim McLaughlin. They were united in marriage on May 19, 1991 at the Lake Murray Chapel by her uncle Gary Everett.
They resided in Muskogee for eight years before making their home at Lone Grove. Most recently Kiwana was employed for Hobby Lobby as the Co-Manager working there for seven years. Kiwana was also a volunteer fireman of the Sneed Fire Department. She loved traveling with her friends and singing at church. She was a longtime member of the Stobtown Freewill Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death was her father, James Everett - 1988; grandparents; and two nieces, Jennifer and Lacrisha.
Survivors include her loving husband Jim of the home; sons, James McLaughlin and wife Melissa of Soper and Gage McLaughlin and wife Breanna of Lawton; grandchildren, Stetson McLaughlin, Adelynn McLaughlin, Kodi Hockett, and Michael and Kayla Eaves; a granddaughter on the way, Blaikely McLaughlin; mother, Melba Billingsley and husband Rex of Wilson; father in law, Jim McLaughlin, Sr. and wife Cathy of Tishomingo; mother in law, Susan Swager and husband Robert of Riverside, CA; brother, Marty Everett of Lone Grove; sisters, Ramona Shapiro and husband Steven of Goldsby and Laura Hamilton of Lone Grove; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Casket bearers are Larry Miller, J.D.Balthrop, Ivron McClendon, Jay Christian, Jackie Lee and Temple Lee Grundy.
Honorary Bearers are all the firefighters of the Sneed Volunteer Fire Department.
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
