Kent "Cappy" J. Thompson

Wilson- Funeral Services for Mr. Kent J. Thompson, 49, formerly of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the Rexroat Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Harris and Rev. Jim Roebuck officiating. Family visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Wed. July 6, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson. Interment will follow services at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson.

Kent was born September 30, 1966 at Beaver, OK to Mr. Dan Henry Thompson and Mrs. Rita Lenora (Stockton). He departed this life Friday, July 1, 2016 at Carrollton, TX.

Kent was raised attending school here at Wilson, graduating high school in 1984. Soon after Kent joined the United States Army and served active duty for 2 years.His training consisted of Sharpshooter and hand grenade specialist. He received his honorable discharge and began college in Florida, later receiving his degree from Murray State College of Tishomingo in electrical engineering 1993.

Kent worked for several technological companies throughout the years and was most recently employed as a computer systems architect.

Kent loved music and was very talented in playing the guitar. He enjoyed traveling and boating, but most of all cherished times spent with his son, Isaak. Kent was also a very skilled cook. He was a past member of the Rexroat Baptist Church and has been residing at Carrollton, TX since 2001.

Preceding him in death is his Grandparents, Opal Whittaker, Dick Thompson and Glenn Stockton; sister in law - Becky Thompson and uncles Pat Stockton and David Thompson.

Survivors include his mother, Rita Meadows of Healdton; father, Dan Thompson of Wilson; son, Isaak Thompson of Carrollton; brothers, Danny Thompson and his late wife Becky of Shawnee, Roger Thompson and wife Donna of Bing and Troy Thompson of Stillwell; close friends, Bobbi Wilen, Rosanne Morrow and Toni and Cheryl Miller; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.

Casket Bearers are Isaak Thompson, Mike Quigley, Tony Herring, Gordon Dutton, Chuck Starling, Jason Circle, Justin Hall, Keith Barnes and Rick Coprtopassi.
