Kenneth "Doyle" Davis

Ringling - Funeral Services for Mr. Kenneth "Doyle" Davis, 86, of Wichita Falls, TX are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wed. June 6, 2018 at the Ringling Church of Christ in Ringling, OK with Joe Wilkerson and Kent Hairod officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling, OK.


Doyle was born on Dec. 16, 1931 at Wilson, OK to the late Mr. William Markus Davis and Mrs. Opal Irene (Vowell) Davis. He departed this life on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at a healthcare facility in Wichita Falls, TX.


Doyle was raised primarily in Ringling, OK as part of a migrant farming family, moving back and forth several times from Oklahoma to California. He joined the United States Marine Corps on October 27, 1952 at Dallas, TX. He served his country honorably during the Korean War and was discharged on October 28, 1954. Doyle returned to the Ringling area and soon married the former Ms. Marvella Merna Provence on Dec. 27, 1955 at Fox, OK.

Doyle began his education at Draughns Business College of Wichita Falls, TX, before attending the University of Oklahoma where he received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting. They made their home in Wichita Falls where Doyle gained employment initially for Talbott Oil & Gas Co. He later was employed for Wichita Falls Savings and Loan Association where he served as Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Afterwards he worked for First Savings of Burkburnett where he served as Executive Vice President. In 1980, he opened Doyle Davis Realty, a company where he provided real estate appraisals, real estate investments and real estate sales. Doyle was always very involved throughout the city of Wichita Falls. He served as the president of the Wichita Falls Jaycees where he was a life member and was a mason belonging to the Masonic Lodge #1158 AF & AM and was a Shriner at Maskat Shrine Temple. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church of Wichita Falls and was a member of the Wichita Falls Board of Realtors. He served as president of the Wichita County Water Improvement District No. 2. Doyle was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed farming, gardening and attending family reunions.


Those who preceded him in death were his parents, daughter, Merna Lynn Davis; his wife, Marvella (Provence) Davis on July 27, 2007; brothers, Ray and Vernon Davis; sisters, Shirley Harper, LaQuanae Doyle and Wanda Davis; sisters in law and brothers in law, Genevieve Davis, Elmer Provence, Mary Belle and Richard Ketchum, George Provence and Howard Rhone.


Survivors include his daughter, Doyla Ann Davis of Wichita Falls, TX; son, Don Davis and wife Terri of Austin, TX; brothers, Deral Davis and wife Mary of Ardmore and Bill Davis of Rosharon, TX; sisters, Lazunae Crownover and husband Curtis of New Braunsfels, TX and Mary Slover and husband Wayne of Richland Hills, TX; Sisters in law and brothers in law, Maxine Davis of Locust Grove, Joyce Davis of Katy, TX, Richard Doyle of Azle, TX, Warren Harper of Hurst, TX, Christine Schulte of Pflugerville, TX, Linda Provence of Central High, Mildred Reinhardt and husband Jess of Ringling and Roy Provence and wife Teressa also of Ringling; grandchildren, Steven Davis and wife Akiko, Alex Davis, Amy Davis, Scott Trevino and wife Megan and Tony Trevino; great grandchildren, Avery, Lucas, Benjamin and Jeremy; numerous other relatives and friends.


Pallbearers are Rick Doyle, David Doyle, Kent Hairod, Brian Routh, Darin Huffman, Anthony Steele and Steve Dudley. Honorary Pallbearers include Bob Benson, Bob McMasters, and Bill Stroud.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
