Ken Freeman

Marietta – Graveside Services for Mr. Ken Freeman, 71, of Thackerville are scheduled for 10:00 am Monday, June 3, 2013 at Lakeview Cemetery IN Marietta with Murray McMurray officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Ken was born March 16, 1942 at to the late Mr. Russell and Mrs. Gertie (Thompson) Freeman at the family home on Red River at Marietta. He passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Plano Medical Center.

Ken attended Meadowbrook School and graduated from Turner High School in 1960 as salutatorian of the class. He and the former Ms. Mary Smith of Fox were married on June 22, 1963. Ken served his country as a United States Marine. He worked at National Supply in Gainesville, TX for 23 years, until it closed. He worked for the Love County Treasurers office and retired from Michelin after 13 years where he worked in the Mixing department. His hobbies were enjoying his 57 Chevy, gardening, watching television, and just visiting with people.

He is preceded in death by his Parents and Grandparents, Loma and Ora Odell Freeman and Virgil and Lila Holt Thompson.

Survivors include his wife Mary Smith Freeman of the home in Thackerville; Brother, Ted Freeman and wife Betty of Marietta; Special Nieces: Bonnie Smith, Gequita Tyson and Cassie Smith; Other Nieces and Nephews: Scott, Tracy, Karen, Lil Ernie, Leroy, Jo, David, Mike, Evelyn, Donna, Randy and Ray.

Pallbearers will be Ted Freeman, Scott Freeman, Elvis Reed, Earnest Smith, Ray Smith, and Billy Smith.

Honorary Bearers are Charles Freeman, Noah Graham and Bill Dewbre.

Family visitation will be from 3-5 pm Sunday at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
