Lone Grove- Funeral Services for Mr. Keith Douglas Smith, 74, of Lone Grove are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday July 30, 2013 at the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church of Lone Grove with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Keller Cemetery north of Wilson. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Keith was born Nov. 17, 1938 at Wewoka, Ok to the late Mr. Elmer Leonard Smith and Mrs. Edna Willie (Whitlock) Smith. He departed this life Friday evening July 26, 2013 at his daughters’ residence in Haughton, LA.
Keith was raised in Wewoka attending school there. He married the former Ms. Caroline (Criswell) on Sept. 17, 1960 at Purcell. They made their home in Lone Grove in 1970 and have resided there since. Keith was an employee for Carter County District III for many years. After he retired he enjoyed his time fishing and camping. He had a passion for spending time outdoors and loved sharing moments with his daughters, sons in laws, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death is his Parents; Mr. Elmer Smith and Edna Carroll; Brothers, Clyde Smith and Charles Smith; Brother in law and Sister In Law Charles and Pat Massey and a nephew Dean Massey.
Survivors include his wife Caroline of the home; Daughters, Lacinda McCurtain and husband Ron of Lone Grove and Teresa Campbell and husband Mike of Haughton, LA; Grandchildren, Christy Krohn, Jamie Williamson and husband Josh, Brian Petree, Josh Flanagan and wife Charlotte, Kristy Sturdivant, Samantha Henderson and husband Joshua and Shawn Campbell; Great Grandchildren, Makenzi and Cadence Williamson, Halie and Shelby Krohn, Andrew and Adisyn Petree, Averie and Myka Flanagan, Dylan Sturdivant, and Kaleigh Henderson; Nephew Rick Massey and Nieces Paula Rutledge and Latricia Massey; Brother Kenneth Smith of Seminole; Sisters Dorothy McClelland of Wewoka and Donnie Carroll and husband Bill of Oklahoma City.
Pallbearers are Brian Petree, Joshua Flanagan, Mike Campbell, Ron McCurtain, Steve Rutledge and Dylan Sturdivant.
Family visitation will be held from 6- 8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
