Kay Lynn (Prater) Brown

Services for Kay Lynn (Prater) Brown, 75, of Lone Grove, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Bro. Jim McDowell officiating. Interment will follow at the Marlow Cemetery at Marlow, OK.

Kay was born July 7, 1947, at Tulia, TX, to the late Mr. Curtis Logan Prater and Mrs. Edith Louise (Milligan) Prater. She departed this life Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Ardmore.

Kay was raised at Bray where she attended school and later graduated high school with the class of 1965. She graduated valedictorian of her class. On August 17, 1965, at the Bray Baptist Church, Kay married Kenneth Brown, the love of her life. The couple moved from Marlow to Lone Grove in 1995, purchasing Grove Mart Convenience Store of Lone Grove. Kay loved the store and all of her customers. She led a very simple life and adored all of her family. Kay was a member of the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death are her parents; two grandchildren, Blake and Mandy Brown and a great grandchild, Asher Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Brown of the home; sons, Keith Brown of Lone Grove and Kris Brown and his wife, Tonya also of Lone Grove; sister, Sharen Condley of Ardmore; grandchildren, Rachel Beane and her husband, Jarod, Jeremy Brown and his wife, Danielle, and Macie Sanders and her husband, Alex; four great grandchildren with two others on the way; numerous other family and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be family.

Honorary bearers are all past and present Grove Mart employees.
