Wilson – Funeral Services for Mrs. Kay Lynn Mayes, 64, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday November 29, 2010 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Howard Walker officiating. Inurnment of her ashes will performed at a later date at a cemetery in Bowie, TX.

Kay was born August 27, 1946 in Healdton, OK to the late Mr. Randal and Estelle Peters. She departed this life Wed. Nov. 24, 2010 at a hospital in Ada, OK.

Kay was raised in Healdton and moved to Texas as a teenager graduating from Bowie High School. She attended college at Dallas studying to become a nurse and then was employed in the healthcare industry as a nurse for many years. She and Mr. Jimmy Mayes were united in marriage October 1, 1999 at Bowie, TX. They made their home here in Wilson since. Kay loved doing Arts and Crafts and was also an excellent cook. Kay always went above and beyond to help others and a very supportive companion to her husband. She was a member of the Healdton Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death is her Parents and brother, Keith Peters.

Survivors include her husband Jimmy of the home. Daughter Shannon Cagle and husband Sam of Callisburg, TX. Brother, Randy Peters of Wesley Chapel, FL. Two Grandchildren, Mandy Cagle of Austin, TX and Josh Cagle of Callisburg, TX.

Honorary Bearers are Oran Marshall, Dean Blackwell, Happy Gladdin, Jack Gunter, Dale Morgan, Kenny Burden and all the members of the Riff Raft Group.

Family visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm Sunday afternoon at the funeral home in Wilson.
