Katherine "Kathey" Laverne (Carroll) Needham, of Healdton, departed this life on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at her residence in Healdton at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 2 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the Milo Baptist Church in Milo with Rev. Mike Johnston and Caleb Holbrook officiating. Interment will follow at the Dixie Cemetery in Stephens County. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton.
Kathey was born to the late Mr. James Andrew Carroll and Mrs. Carrie Lee (Padgett) Carroll in Orr, Oklahoma on August 25, 1938.
Kathey attended Mountain Home School where she played basketball. She married Ralph Junior Needham on December 28, 1982 in Gainesville, TX. Kathey owned and operated Cassie's Dress Shop and had also cared for the elderly in Dallas. Kathey enjoyed baling and hauling hay with Ralph and was a devoted homemaker. Kathey enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, embroidering, going out to eat in Ringling and local areas but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Milo Baptist Church.
Kathey is preceded in death by her parents, sons, Bud Walker and Jimmy Walker; Five siblings, Bill Phillips, Slim Phillips, Emet Phillips, Odell Carroll, and Jack Carroll.
She is survived by her husband Ralph Junior Needham of the home; children, Brenda and Kent Priddy; Jon Walker and Deanna Carter; grandchildren, Edith and Vince Summy, Carrie and Zach Taylor, Candice and Walter Stewart, Melissa and Jose Sistos, Stormie and Brian Palmer, Jason and Tasha Bivings, Amanda and Caleb Holbrook, JJ and Sam Cook, and Janie Walker; stepchildren, Sherri Mitchell and Kerry Edingfield, Gena and Chris Wise, Paula and Darrell Hall; step grandchildren, Bryan Perkins, Courtney Wallace, Forrest Mitchell, Ashley Branch, Dakota Mitchell, Dalton Wise, Devin Wise, and Chance Wise; 27 great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren; and by a host of other family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Klay Vernon, Kaden Reynolds, Josh Carroll, Ronnie Max Burton, Ty Phillips, and Bud Carroll.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Smith, Donald (Duck) Bailey, Austin Story, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M. Monday, July 31, 2023 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton.
