Kathey Gay Newell

Healdton - Home Going celebration services for Mrs. Kathey Gay (Cottman) Newell, 70, of Ratliff City are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 at the Crosspoint Fellowship of Healdton with Micah Newell and Carl Lomenick officiating. Interment will follow at Ratliff City cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Kathey was born May 3, 1949 in Stillwater, to the late Mr. James Cleo Cottman and Mrs. Sarah Rachel (Arthur) Cottman. She went to her heavenly home on Tuesday evening October 29, 2019 at Healdton.

As a young girl she lived in Perkins, before moving to Farmersville, CA with her family. Kathey attended Exeter Union High school, and furthered her education at The College of The Sequoias graduating with a degree in business. She worked at various jobs before settling as the head librarian of the Exeter Library. She married Charles A. Newell November 19, 1971. Kathey soon left her career outside of the home, for her most important and treasured position of being a wife and mother. Kathey was a support to Charles as he pastored in Iowa, California, and Oklahoma. Kathey was diligent in her role of raising her 3 children Micah, Seth, and Kristin, teaching them the ways of the Lord. Her home was a comfort to many and the door was always open to all. Her life was devoted to her Husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Preceding her are her parents and two sisters, Blanche Cottman and Wanda Noles.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Charles Asher Newell of the home; sons, Micah Newell and wife Terri of Ratliff City and Seth Newell and wife Dana of Fox; daughter, Kristin Lomenick and husband Carl of Ratliff City; grandchildren, Sean Newell and wife Kristi, Dominic Newell, Chloe Newell, Kennedy Newell, Be'la Lomenick, Ciana Newell, Jameson Newell and Gabriel Lomenick; great grandchildren, Kimberlynn Newell, Katelynn Newell and Karsyn Newell; sister, Geraldine Hardy of Wilson; brother, James Cottman of Farmersville, CA; numerous other family, church family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Micah Newell, Seth Newell, Carl Lomenick, Sean Newell, Dominic Newell and Jameson Newell.

Honorary Bearers are Gabe Lomenick and Brent Edwards.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Friday at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
