Karen Louise (Banks) Roe

Cheek - Services for Karen Louise (Banks) Roe, 54, Overbrook, will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Cheek Baptist Church at Cheek, Oklahoma, with Rev. Morgan Ashworth and Pastor Chopper McCartney officiating. Interment will follow at the Cheek Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Karen was born October 20, 1961 at Ardmore, OK to Mr. William Jess “Sonny” Banks and Mrs. Christine (McCartney) Banks. She departed this life Friday, November 27, 2015.

Karen was raised at Abner, attending school at Turner where she graduated in 1979. She married Anthony Roe on November 22, 1978 at the Cheek Baptist Church. Anthony and Karen resided at Shadydale, near Marietta, for 16 years before making their home at Cheek. She began working for Uniroyal Tire Manufacturing in 1988 which later became Michelin. She retired from Michelin after 25 years of employment in 2013. Karen always enjoyed photography, gardening, painting, crafts, hosting get togethers, cooking/baking, reading, and was known for being the prankster of the family. Karen took the Lord as her Savior at Eastman Baptist Church and was most currently a member of the Cheek Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death was her grandparents, Fred and Mildred Banks and Beacher and Mary McCartney.

Survivors include her husband Anthony Roe of the home; parents, Sonny and Christine Banks of Abner; 2 sons, Anthony Aaron Roe, Jr. and wife Shelly and their children Hannah and Tyler of Abner, Jason Daniel Roe of Cheek; siblings, Belinda Wild and husband Richard of Leon, Ricky Banks of Oswalt, James Banks and wife Jamie of Abner, Betty Garrett and husband Steve of Sulphur; very special friend, Sarah Morgan of Lone Grove; numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Eric Banks, Kyle Banks, Tanner Banks, Robert Wild, James Roe, and Cameron Roe.

Honorary Bearers are Robbie Dodson, John Jacobs and all of her co-workers of Michelin.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
