Wilson – Memorial Graveside Services for Mrs. Karen Janice (Carriker) Smith, 44 of Leoti, KS are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, December 20, 2010 at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson with Rev. Hershall Baker officiating.
Karen was born Nov. 13, 1966 at Ardmore to Mr. Frank T. Carriker and the late Mrs. Linda Faye (Spencer) Carriker. She departed this life Monday, December 13, 2010 at Hays, KS.
Karen was raised in Wilson attending school here. She moved to Poteau, OK and then later to Kansas, residing in Leoti. She was employed as a nurse all of her working years for several nursing homes. Her and Mr. Harold Smith were united in marriage May 21, 1993 at Leoti. She was a devoted mother and wife, always willing to help anyone in need. She enjoyed the outdoors and horses.
Preceding her in death is her Mother Linda (Spencer) Carriker.
Survivors include her husband Harold Smith of the home, Daughter, Goldie George and husband Lewis of Okley, KS. Sons, David Moore of Hillsboro, Oregon, Jay Smith and Shamus Smith, both of Leoti. Grandmother, Bernice Spencer of Gainesville, TX. Father, Frank Carriker of Wilson. Sisters, Johnny Belinda Buley of Lawton, Kathy Moabley and husband Scottie of Chickasha, Lisa Marie Sedivy and husband James of Las Vegas, NV, and Dawn Adair Carriker of Okley, KS. Two Grandchildren, Aryan Michael George and Chelsea Leann George. Numerous other family and friends.
