Wilson- Funeral Services for Mrs. Kalinda Kay (Elliott) Overby, 41, of Gilmer, TX, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday May 9, 2012 at the Ash Street Church of Christ of Wilson with Gary Scott Labeth and Rev. Ronnie Jeffery officiating. Interment will follow at the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson, OK.




Kalinda was born October 20, 1970 at Norman to Mr. A.B. Elliott and Mrs. Barbara Jean (Loving) Elliott. She departed this life Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Longview, TX.




Kalinda was raised in Wilson attending school there, graduating as part of the class of 1988. She attended cosmetology school at Aladdin’s Beauty School in Ardmore and soon became a hair stylist. Kalinda worked for many years as a hair dresser as well as other occupations in the area. She and Bill Overby were united in marriage June 7, 2005 at Wilson. In 2007 they made their home in Gilmer, TX and have resided there since.


Kalinda was devoted housewife, mother and friend. She always put everyone first and was one who would always prepare meals for those in need. She was always proud to be from Wilson and was baptized in 2003 at the Rexroat Baptist Church.




Preceding her in death is her Father, A.B. Elliott in 2003,; Maternal Grandparents, Clarence and Emma Loving, Paternal Grandparents, Paul and Wilmoth Elliott; Fathers in Law, Kenneth Overby and Sonny James; Granddaughter, Zoey Overby and Uncle, L.C. Loving.




Survivors include husband, Mr. William Ray “Bill” Overby of the home; Children, CeJae Cunningham, Hadley J. Overby, Jeremy Overby, Mandy Overby, and Stephanie Christian and husband Ricky; Mother, Barbara Elliott of Wilson, Mother in law, Ollie Overby of Gilmer, TX; Brother, Rod Elliott and wife Rhoni of Ardmore; Grandchildren, Taylor and Olivia Christian; Nephews, Blain, Creed and River; Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and other family.




Pallbearers are Blain Elliott, Creed Elliott, River Elliott, Greg Whatley, Dennis Turpin, and Chad Brown.




Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
