Julia Juanita Keenan

Dixie - Graveside inurnment services for Mrs. Julia Juanita (Burton) Keenan, 79, of Alma are scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021 at Dixie Cemetery with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Cremation services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.

Juanita was born on Jan. 25, 1942 at Mountain Home in Loco to the late Mr. Francis Edward Burton and Mrs. Sada Lavada "Puncie" (Skeen) Burton. She departed this life on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021 at the Duncan Regional Hospital.

Juanita was raised at Mountain Home where she attended school. She married Mr. Kenneth "George" Keenan in 1960 at Wichita Falls, TX. They made their home primarily around Loco and Velma, where Juanita was always a devoted homemaker and devout Christian. She was a past member of the Loco First Baptist Church. George preceded her in death on April 15, 2007. Also preceding her, were her parents; grandson, Montana Keenan on May 3, 2015; brother, Buford Burton; sister, Peggy "Penny" Nichols and Aunt, Rene Sullivan, who was also like a sister. Juanita will be remembered for loving to sew, planting flowers and her immense care she provided to all of her family.

Survivors include her sons, Monty Keenan of Ratliff City and Mark Keenan of Alma; sister, Jessie Southerland and husband Jackie of Velma and Louise Chandler and husband Earl of Duncan; brother, Don Burton and wife Deanna of Velma; grandchildren, Kaylie, Kolten and Chance; great grandchildren, Kolsten and Tate; numerous other family and friends.

Honorary bearers are Kolten Keenan, Chance Keenan, Joyle Hurst, Jerry Southerland, Joe Southerland, Brandon Breakfield and Jackie Southerland.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 pm Wednesday evening at Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.
