Joyce Helen Way

Services for Mrs. Joyce Helen (Paxson) Way, 84, of Wilson, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 1, 2013 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Chaplain Ricky Way officiating. Interment will be at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Joyce was born April 13, 1929 in Wilson, Oklahoma to Mr. Chester B. Paxson and Mrs. Ester Mary (Clark) Paxson. She passed from this life June 27, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore.

She was raised at Wilson and attended school graduating from Wilson High School.

Joyce worked initially as a Switchboard Operator before marrying Mr. Rayford Haskell Way on July 18, 1952 at Wilson. They made their home in Wilson where Joyce was a devoted housewife raising her four boys. She was also employed later in life part time at Blondell’s Floral in Wilson. Joyce loved sports all of her life and especially enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboy’s Football. Rayford preceded her in death on October 28, 2010 and since she enjoyed time spent with her grandkids and all of her family.

In addition to her husband also preceding her in death are her Parents, Chester Paxson and Ester Mary Paxson; Son, Danny Way SR. ~ March 17, 1999; Granddaughter, Shanda Way ~ August 4, 1988; Brother, James Paxson; Sisters, Billie Paxson, Maxine Lansford, Betty June Wilkerson and LaWana Burns Garrett.

Survivors include her 3 Sons, Ricky A. Way and wife Donna of Colorado Springs,CO.,

Tommy Way and wife Sherri of Wilson, OK. and Terry “Moose” Way of Wilson.; Daughter in law, Joann Way of Wilson.; 8 Grandchildren, Danny and wife Buffy, Becky and husband Jeremy, Dustin and wife Kim, Jeremy, Joey, John and wife Lauren and Jaci and husband Bobby.;

10 great Grandchildren; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends.

Pallbearers are Danny Way JR., Dustin Way, Joey Way, John Way, Jeremy Way and Bobby Canada.

Honorary Bearers are Rebecca (Way) Hussey, the late Shanda Way, Jaci (Way) Canada, Lester Lansford, Mike Burns and Linda Burns.

Family Visitation will be Sunday ,June 30, 2013 at Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson from 4-6 P.M.
