Joyce Fore

Fox - Funeral Services for Mrs. Joyce (Shirley) Fore, 85 of Fox are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018 at the Milo Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park of Ardmore. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Joyce was born October 27, 1932 at Stratford to the late Mr. Charley Cleveland "C.C." Shirley and Mrs. Loretta Verlene (Sartors) Shirley. She departed this life Tuesday morning, Sept. 11, 2018 at her home in Fox.

Joyce was a resident of Fox most all of her years. She graduated from Fox High School in 1951 and soon after married Mr. Larry B. Fore. They were united in marriage on June 15, 1951 at Wichita Falls, TX. Together they shared 67 amazing years together always residing at Fox.

Shortly after their marriage, Joyce attended Beauty school in Duncan and later worked as a hairdresser for over fifty years. Her beauty shop was located at her home in Fox where she raised her three wonderful boys, Larry Gene, Jacky and Joey. She loved fixing hair. Joyce always enjoyed a house full of family and friends whom she overly took pleasure in cooking some of her famous chocolate and pecan pies for. She enjoyed all of her children's baseball team ganging up at the house before each ballgame where she often gave them flat top and burr haircuts.

Joyce was a great seamstress often sewing her children’s clothes and making many wonderful quilts. She also loved to sew for her grandchildren and always enjoyed fixing them something to eat. She and Larry most recently had been attending the Milo Baptist Church but still held their membership for 62 years at the Fox Baptist Church.

She is preceded by her parents, C.C. and Loretta Shirley; brother, Eugene Shirley; sisters, Barbara Carroll and most recently Catherine Gordon; brother in law, Dillon Carroll; nephew, Dustin Tra Moore; niece, Stephanie (Shirley) Zellers, and daughter in law, Carla Renee (Battles) Fore.

Survivors include her loving husband, Larry B. Fore of the home; sons, Larry Gene Fore and wife Judy of Fox, Jacky Dave Fore of Pruitt City and Joey B. Fore and wife Stephanie of Fox; sister, Jaquita Moore and husband Larry of Purcell; sister in law, Mamon Shirley of Edmond; brother in law, Kenneth Gordon of Fox; eight grandchildren, Lori Bartling and husband Josh, Corby Fore and Trisha, Corey Fore, Jaclyn Hunter and husband Tracy, Toni Taylor and husband Zac, Jacob Fore and Jordan, Shanda Fore and Michael and Daelyn Lair; great grandchildren, Kelcey, Jakobi, Tori, Bryce, Zoe, Asher, Brandie, Keegan, Judson and Brenton; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Larry Gene Fore, Jacky Dave Fore, Joey B. Fore, Josh Bartling, Corby Fore and Jacob Fore.

Honorary Bearers are all the Staff of Cross Timbers Hospice of Ardmore.

Family visitation will be held from 5 to 7pm Wednesday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
