Ardmore- Funeral Services for Mrs. Joy Len (Barrett) Baker, 84, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Southwest Baptist Church of Ardmore with Rev. Bruce Kirby officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Ardmore. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Joy Len (Barrett) Baker was born January 13, 1932 to the late Mr. Joe Benjamin Barrett and Mrs. Mary Katherine Gilliland of Wilson. She departed this life on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Ardmore.

Joy Len was raised in the Wilson area, residing some at Oil City and Ardmore. She attended grade school at Wheeler and was later a graduate of Wilson High School, class of 1950. Joy Len married Mr. Benny Donald Baker on November 5, 1950 at the Wilson First Baptist Church. She worked alongside her husband at their family business, Baker Electric, for many years while also being a devoted homemaker and housewife. Joy Len was always very involved in the civic activities in Wilson. She was a member of the Homemaker's Club, served as an officer for the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Wilson First Baptist Church, and most currently a member of the Southwest Baptist Church of Ardmore.

Preceding her in death was her parents; husband, Benny Donald Baker on October 8, 2013; sister, Lou Ellen Remilus; brothers, Joe Ben Barrett, James Barrett, and Jack Barrett.

Survivors include her children, Joy Don Baker of Watauga, Marcia Crosthwait and husband Bobby of Ardmore, Benny Baker and wife Terry of Hernando, FL; grandchildren, Hope Hoffman and husband Paul, Jade Baker, Chelsie Gabel and husband Scott, Haley Schirmer and husband Brandon, Amy Clark and husband Chris; great grandchildren, Baxter Hoffman, Price Hoffman, Ella Hoffman, Easton Clark, Phoebe Schirmer, and 2 on the way; brothers, Jean Barrett of Stroud, OK and Jerry Barrett and wife Dolores of Cherokee, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Lyndal Hicks, Scott Gabel, Chris Clark, Stan Harris, Harold Buck, and Jim Michael.

Honorary Bearers are Jerry Barrett and Keith Barrett.

Family visitation will be held from 4-6pm, Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.

Memorial Donations may be made in honor of Joy Len at the AORN Foundation, Baker Family Research Endowment, at AORN.org., to Southwest Baptist Church 2120 Myall Street of Ardmore, to the First Baptist Church of Wilson, and also the Cross Timbers Hopice of Ardmore.
