Jose Carreon Martinez

Ringling- Graveside services for Jose “Chepe” Carreon Martinez are scheduled for 2:00 P.M, Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Grady Cemetery with Bro. Billy Holder officiating. Services are under direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.

Jose was born September 18, 1957 at Santa Rosalia, Tamasopo, San Luis Potos to Mr. Felix Rangel Martinez and Mrs. Aurelia Carreon (Perez) Martinez. He departed this life Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Jose was raised in the mountain country of Mexico and arrived in the United States when he was 14 years of age. He married the former Miss Flora Andrade and to this union they were blessed with eight children. Jose and his family made Ringling their permanent home in 1995, where he primarily worked as the Foreman for Stewart Ranch. He was an excellent mechanic who loved to work. Jose also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was of the Catholic faith.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Flora Martinez, of the home; children, Juanita Hernandez and husband Macario of Ringling, Jose Martinez of Ringling, Felix Martinez of Ardmore, Maria Villalpando and husband Joey, Esmeralda Martinez, Clemente Martinez, Juan Jose Martinez, and Estrella Milagros Martinez all of Ringling; brothers, Joel Martinez of Ringling, Gumesindo Martinez of Rio Grande Valley, TX, and Gustavo Martinez of Delaware; sisters, Gregoria Martinez of Tultepec, Mexico, Maria Blas Martinez of Georgia, Elvia Martinez of Ardmore, Elena Martinez, Gloria Martinez, and Edith Martinez all of Brownsville, TX, Reina Martinez and Maria Martinez both of Tamaulipas, Mexico; 9 grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Clemente Martinez, Jose Martinez, Felix Martinez, Juan Martinez, Macario Hernandez, and Joey Villalpando.

Honorary bearers are Joel Martinez, Joel Martinez, Jr., Patrick Stewart, Gumesindo Martinez, Gustavo Martinez, Angel Jimenez, Baler Stewart, Caleb Stewart, Macs Stewart, Harley Joe Stewart, Brendon Tucker, and Miguel Hernandez.
