Joe Lewis Stewart

Ringling - Funeral Services for Mr. Joe Lewis Stewart, 93, of Healdton is scheduled for 10:00 am Wed. Dec. 28, 2016 at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with Danny Huntsman and Danny Stewart officiating. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Joe was born July 9, 1923 at Healdton to the late Mr. Thomas Stanton Stewart and Mrs. Carrie Vetura (Justus) Stewart. He departed this life Sunday Dec. 25, 2016 at his home north of Healdton.

Joe was raised north of Healdton attending school at Rock Springs and later at Healdton. While attending school at Rock Springs he met and later married the former Ms. Jurlie Uzella O'Dell on September 5, 1942 at Healdton. They shared 71 years of marriage together. He and Jurlie lived in Lindsay for 2 years before returning to work at Jurlies family farm during the war. They raised their 5 children on the farm and taught them good ole fashioned values. Joe worked in the Oilfield for many years as a roughneck and pumper. He also farmed and ranched for himself and the Brady's. He enjoyed gardening above all and always had plenty for everyone and loved to give it away. Joe also was an avid hunter, loving to hunt coyotes and enjoyed fishing as well. Jurlie preceded him in death on January 3, 2014. Joe continued to live on the family farm until his passing. His days were often filled with family visits and cherished memories of all the good times they shared. Joe was a member of the Shell Street Church of Christ in Healdton.

Also preceding him in death are his Parents; sons, Harley and Robert; Grandsons, Brent Stewart and Joe Dale Stewart; son-in-law, Jerry Hudgens; brothers, Ottis, Harley, Howard and Clarence; infant sister, Ester; and great grandson Bradley Kneburg.

Survivors include 3 daughters;Barbara Hudgens of Healdton , Diana Dickerson and husband Bob of Fox and Debbie Rapier and husband Jim of Ringling; daughter in laws, Patricia Stewart of Ringling and Jeannette Stewart of Healdton; brother, Shelton Thomas "Cap" Stewart of Ardmore; Grandchildren, Deedra, Patrick, Misty, Bobby, Chad, Celesta, Amanda, Camillia and Larissa. 15 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Bobby Dickerson, Chad Dickerson, Kevin Edwards, Patrick Stewart, Danial Naim and Damon Woody.

Honorary Bearers are Deedra Woody, Misty Hudgens, Amanda Stewart, Larissa Naim, Celesta Edwards and Camillia Rapier.
