Joanna Fern Mott

Healdton - Graveside inurnment services for Joanna Fern Mott, 84 formerly of Healdton are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday October 31, 2020 at the Woodford Cemetery with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Cremation services are under the care of Alexander Gray Crematory.

Joanna was born on May 19, 1936 at Havanna, AR to the late Mr. O.H. Mott and Mrs. Millie (Elsberry) Mott. She departed this life Sunday morning, Oct. 25, 2020 at a healthcare facility in Duncan.

Joanna was raised during the depression years, moving from Vernon, TX to the California shipyards following work. As an adult, primarily she resided at Healdton working initially for the pants factory and later as a hairdresser. She was most known for her employment for Dr. McKenzie and then for Dr. Mark Newey. There she handled the medical records and billing for many years, retiring from Dr. Newey's in her mid 70's.

Joanna deeply loved her family and made sure they were always taken care of. She loved to cook for them especially at holidays and gatherings. She enjoyed reading immensely and was a member of the Zaneis Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Dale Oakman; sisters, Rozzell Pendergras, Clozzell Scott and Loretta Christiansen; brothers, Max and Oral Mott and one infant sibling.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Oakman and wife Sheila of Woodford and David Oakman and wife Jana of Duncan; five grandchildren, Keelie Lipscomb and husband Blake, Karlie Hullum and husband Patrick, Kye Garrett, Joseph Trent Oakman and Travis Mark Oakman; great grandchildren, Sam Lipscomb and Gus Hullum; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

Honorary bearers Travis Oakman, Trent Oakman, Kye Garrett, Sam Lipscomb and Gus Hullum.
