Joann "Kaye" Brown

Wilson - Memorial services for JoAnn “Kaye” Brown, 68, will be held at Rexroat Baptist Church on March 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., Pastors Jim Roebuck and Monte Dean will be officiating. Interment will be at the Hewitt Cemetery at a later date. Memorial arrangements will be handled by Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson, Oklahoma.

JoAnn Kaye Brown was born December 5, 1946 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Elmer and Margaret Allen. She passed from this life Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at her home in Ardmore.

She attended high school in Wilson, Oklahoma, graduating in 1965. She married Jack C. Brown on February 14, 1966 and from this union two children were born Kelli and Scott. During their marriage of 49+ years she made a home and raised their children in Oklahoma, Montana, Wyoming, Texas, California, Louisiana and Cameron West Africa. After returning to the States in 2000; they initially retired in Tyler, Texas in 2005 moved home to Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Kaye’s love for life lead her to many friends in many locations. She brought people into her heart and treasured many lifelong relationships. Her Lord, church family and many friends were so dear to her heart as they supported her through prayer and love during her 18-year fight against cancer. She loved the hugs she received prior to Sunday Worship Service at Rexroat Baptist Church. Kaye’s love of family warmed her heart and brought a smile on her face when she would see them or just think about them. Kaye also enjoyed camping and traveling to see the world that God had created. She had a love for animals, big and small, which led her to adopting her beloved dogs Bully and Ruby.

She is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Margaret Allen, her father in Law R.B. Brown and her Grandson Michael Dakota Robinson. Survivors include her husband Jack, daughter Kelli & Alan Neuman of Bakersfield, California; son Scott Brown of San Francisco, California; brother Jerry W. Allen of Wilson, Oklahoma; mother in law Genevee Brown of Wilson, Oklahoma; sister/brother in law J.K. & Sharon Ralls of Wilson, Oklahoma; sister/brother in law Jerry & Norma Brown of Purcell, Oklahoma; grandchildren Ben Neuman, Andy Neuman and Meggan McDonald and their families all of Bakersfield, California; and six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers Kaye wishes for memorial donations to be made to the Ardmore Animal Care, Inc., Rexroat Baptist Church Building Fund or Crosstimbers Hospice both of Ardmore, Oklahoma.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas and the Ardmore Cancer Center for the years of care, and to Crosstimbers Hospice for the dignified loving care they provided our precious Kaye.
