Joanie Griffith-Georgia

Ringling - Funeral Services for Mrs. Joanie Griffith-Georgia, 71, are scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday June 18, 2014 at the Gospel Tabernacle Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. Jimmy Morris officiating. Interment will follow at the Dixie Cemetery north of Ringling. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Joanie was born February 10, 1943 at Lawton, OK to the late Mr. Burl Jasper Griffith and Mrs. Bonnie Lucille (Apala) Griffith. She departed this life Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Decatur, TX.

Joanie was raised at Pinto attending school at Fox. She married Michael Georgia Nov. 15, 1980 at Ft. Worth, TX. They made their home in Ft. Worth and then later at Rhome where they have been residents since 1994.

Joanie was a dedicated homemaker and wonderful wife. She loved spending time outside working in her flower gardens and was always a very family oriented person. She was baptized at the Gospel Tabernacle of Ringling.

Preceding her in death are her Parents Burl and Bonnie (Apala) Griffith.

Survivors include her loving husband, Mr. Michael Georgia of Rhome, TX; Daughters, Daneen Collins and husband Eric of Oklahoma City, Bonnie Heard and husband Tommy of Keller, TX, Tammy Johnson of Ft. Worth, TX and Kristie Robertson of Stroud, OK; Son, Michael Cvelar and wife Jennifer of Cleveland, OH; 8 Grandchildren, and 8 Great Grandchildren; Siblings, Jean Shipman of Mansfield, TX, Pat Griffin of Healdton, Charles Griffith of Ringling, Janis Januszewski and husband Ski of Desoto, TX and Linda Gant of Oklahoma City. Numerous other family and friends.

Casket bearers will be Eric Collins, Tommy Heard, Terry Griffin, Scott Shipman, Beau Beauchamp and Michael Cvelar.

Honorary Bearers are Charles Griffith and James Goode.

Family visitation will be from 10am to 11:30 am Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling.
