Wilson – Funeral Services for Jo Beth Gaither, age 83, of Wilson, will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson, with Rev. Glynn Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson.
Jo Beth was born on August 27, 1941, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to the late Hubert Joe Jarrett and Jenny Beth (Chase) Jarrett. She peacefully departed this life on December 24, 2024, at her home in Wilson.
Raised in Healdton, Jo Beth attended school there before marrying Dale Ray Gaither on November 11, 1971, in Gainesville, Texas. Throughout her career, she worked briefly in sewing factories in Bowie, Texas, and Ringling; however, her primary role was as a dedicated homemaker. Jo Beth cherished her daily trips to Ardmore and was known for ensuring that dinner was served promptly at five o'clock for her family. A lifelong member of the Methodist faith, she was baptized in her youth and later attended the New Life Assembly of Healdton when her health allowed.
Jo Beth was preceded in death by her parents, her son Rodney Gaither, her husband Dale Ray Gaither, and her brother Danny Russell Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Jackson and Jim Darling of Healdton; sons, Donny Foraker and wife Freanna of Velma, Brad Gaither and wife Shelly of Dickson, and Bradley Gaither and wife Angela of Gene Autry. Jo Beth is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Christopher, Shawn and Jamie Gaither, Josh Foraker and wife Mika, Sasha Thornborough and husband Jonathan, Danielle Wade, Kendra Gaither, Samantha Gaither, Tommy Houser, Tia Houser, Tonya Dorries and husband Shayne, James Fore and wife Kisha, Krysti Norton, Rodney Gaither and wife Jamie, and Randy Gaither and wife Brandi: 24 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous extended family and friends.
Casket bearers will include Terrel Dee Tucker, Owen Miller, Shayne Dorries, and grandsons Landon Correia, Josh Foraker, and Seth Fore.
Family visitation is scheduled for Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
