Ardmore - Funeral Services for Mr. Jimmy "Jim" Dale Shrader, 70, of Lone Grove is scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Ardmore with Pastor Donny Custar officiating. Interment will follow at the Hill Crest Memorial Park of Ardmore. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Jim was born September 8, 1947 at Fort Worth, TX to Mr. Freeman R.L. Shrader and Mrs. Geneva Louise Brown. He departed this life Friday evening at his home in Lone Grove.
Jim was primarily raised in Healdton graduating from high school there in 1965. He joined the Army National Guard and later the Army reserves, serving his country honorably for nine years. While attending college at Southeastern in Durant he met the former Debra Tarr and they were soon united in marriage on Dec. 3, 1971 at Bennington, OK. They made Lone Grove their home in 1974. During this time Jim was a Teacher for Lone Grove Public Schools. He opened Shrader Electric Company in 1972 which is still in operation today. Jim was a very successful business owner and was very proud to work with both his sons, James and Justin. They continue to operate Shrader Electric Company within the Ardmore area built on the foundation of integrity that Jim intended.
Jim found good in everyone he met and enjoyed working with the public. When he had a day off he enjoyed bass and crappie fishing, taking many trips throughout the years. Jim was also an avid bowler being President of the Thursday Night Bowling League at the Lone Grove Bowl A Rama. He served the Lord everyday and enjoyed helping at the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Ardmore where he had been a member since 2001.
His father, Freeman Shrader and brother, Johnny Wayne preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife, Debra of the home; his mother, Geneva Shrader of Marlow; daughter, Dea Eggenberg of Ardmore; sons, James Shrader and wife Lisa of Ardmore and Justin Shrader and wife Emily of Ardmore; sister, Cindy Guild and husband David of Marlow; 7 grandchildren, Hunter Eggenberg, Zane Shrader, Ethan Eggenberg, Natalie Shrader, Brooklyn Shrader, Eli Shrader and Addalynn Shrader; numerous other family and friends.
Casket Bearers are James Shrader, Justin Shrader, Hunter Eggenberg, Zane Shrader, Verlon Duggan and Mike Phipps.
Honorary Bearers are his nephews Aubie Tarr, Brandon Tarr, Matt Tarr, Bradley Knight and Clint Knight.
Family visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home in Wilson.
