Jimmy Edward Jackson, 87, of Ardmore, was born on December 2, 1937, to the late Mr. Thurman D Jackson and Mrs. Geneva (Jeter) Jackson. He departed this life March 13, 2025, at his home in Ardmore.
Jimmy's early years were spent in the Fox area, where he attended and graduated from Fox High School with the class of 1955. He displayed a sense of duty and commitment when he enlisted in the Navy on August 31, 1956. Assigned to the USS Kawishiwi, he faced challenges during his service, notably struggling with seasickness. Despite these difficulties, he demonstrated resilience and adaptability, eventually being honorably discharged. Initially residing in Vernon, TX for a brief period, they then moved to Duncan, where they spent around five years before settling down in Ardmore on June 2, 1970. Jimmy had a passion for the great outdoors, particularly enjoying camping trips and water skiing during their many adventures to Lake Murray. His love for nature and leisure activities reflected his vibrant spirit and enthusiasm for life. He will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
