Jimmie Rex Coggin

Ardmore – Memorial services for Mr. Jimmie Rex Coggin, 81 of Ardmore are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 22, 2017 at New Hope Church of God on Lake Murray Drive in Ardmore.

Mr. Jimmie Rex Coggin was born March 14, 1936 to the late Mr. James M. Coggin and Mrs. Olive Thelma (Bean) Coggin in Fort Sill, Ok. He departed from this life on April 2, 2017 at his home in Ardmore.

Jimmie was raised as 1 of 4 children in a military family. He enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corps on September 2, 1954 at Dallas, TX. Jimmie served honorably for 4 years. He was discharged on August 29, 1958 at Camp Pendelton, CA. Jimmie then began his civil service career at Tinker Air Force base as a logistician. He served at numerous bases all over the U.S. retiring after 32 years of service. Jimmie married the former Esther Lee McGlothlin on February 14, 1964 at Bethel Assembly in Del City. To this union, they were blessed with a son, Robert. He loved to golf, watch sports, and go fishing. Jimmie has been a resident of Ardmore since 2003. They attended New Hope Church of God.

Preceding him in death are his parents; oldest brother, Billy Coggin, and younger brother, Donald Coggin.

Jimmie is survived by his wife Esther, their son, Robert Coggin of Ardmore; brother, Preston Coggin and wife Nancy of Norman and 2 grandchildren, Scott Coggin of Salt Lake City, Utah and Raven Coggin of Castle Rock Colorado and his brother in law Raymond McGlothlin and his wife Rose of Luling, Texas.
