Ringling-Funeral Services for Jewell Christine Wade, 88, will be at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ Gospel Tabernacle with Rev. Jimmy Morris officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.

Jewell Wade was born September 7, 1920 at Ringling to William Bennett Burton and Nola Mae Wigham Burton. She passed away Monday, February 9, 2009 in Healdton.

Jewell grew up in the Orr area and graduated from Ringling High School in 1938. She and Melvin Wade were married June 4, 1938 at Wilson. This was an exceptional and blessed marriage of love and admiration that lasted for 64 years until the passing of Melvin in 2002. Jewell and Melvin moved from Ringling to Marietta in 1962, where they resided until Melvin’s passing. Jewell was a homemaker most of her married life, but did work at the Marietta Sportswear and the Marietta Public Schools as a cook. She was a devoted wife and mother characterized by a sweet spirit recognized and appreciated by all that knew her.

Jewell was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Melvin Wade, Son, Darrell and Brother, W.B. Burton.

Survivors include Daughter s, Melva Gardner of Ringling, Julene Johnson and Husband George and Sharon McAnally and Husband Phil all of Ardmore. Sons, Cotton Wade and wife Linda of Pottsboro, TX and Mike Wade and wife Deb of Carrollton, TX, Brother, Dale Burton of Little Axe, 12 Grandchildren and 26 Great-Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Randy Stowers, Nick Stowers, Bill Lemeley, Matt McAnally, Jerry Lynn Wade, Johnny Wade, David Wade, Keith Wade, Kenny Wade and Tim Wade.

Family Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.
