Jewel Elizabeth Allen

Ringling - Funeral Services for Mrs. Jewel Elizabeth Allen, 91, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow to Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.

Jewel was born May 10, 1925 at Ringling to the late Mr. Lester and Mrs. Anna Elizabeth (Alexander) Roberts. She departed from this life on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in Owasso.

Jewel lived in RIngling the biggest part of her life. She married Clifton Cartez Allen in Ringling on February 6, 1943. They were blessed with two sons, Cartez Clifton Allen, Jr. and Donald Gene Allen. Jewel always enjoyed helping her husband whether he was fishing, hauling cattle or milking goats. Jewel and Papa's home was where everyone wanted to be on special holidays and where fun was had by all. She drove a school bus for Ringling Public Schools for many years and loved the kids dearly. In 2012, Jewel moved to Owasso to Evergreen Care Center because of her health. She loved it there and the care center became her home for five years. Jewel was selected Ms. Evergreen Care Center and was in the Ms. Senior Oklahoma Pageant. She was always involved in all the programs there and found lots of friends and caretakers who she loved and who loved her.

Preceding her in death is her parents; husband, Clifton Cartez Allen on September 13, 2011; son, Cartez Clifton "Butch" Allen, Jr. on August 15, 2010; brothers, Lester "Slim", Buck, Clarence, Jack and W.B. "Dub" Roberts; sisters, Florene Abshire, Billie Jean Caldwell and Geraldine Liggett; half brother, Roy Reid; great grandson; Tyler Dean Keeley; great granddaughter, Mackenzie Rappe' and a great great nephew, Justin Duncan.

Jewel is survived by her sons, Donald "Donnie" Gene Allen and his wife Kay Netta of Collinsville; 7 grandchildren, Chad, Shelley, Shane, Donelle, Mary Beth, Mark and Theresa; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild a special niece,Barbara Melton; and a host of other family and friends.

Casket bearers are Chad Allen, Shane Allen, Mark Allen, Jerry Rappe', Ralph Duncan and Alan Wallace. Honorary bearers are Audie Roberts, Virgil Davis, Boyd Melton and Kenny Zachary.

A family visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Friday at Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.
