Healdton - Funeral Services for Mrs. Jessie Faye (Spurgin) Pickelsimer, 92 of Fox are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 2, 2023 at the Shell Street Church of Christ with Danny Huntsman officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
Jessie was born in Stephens County, OK to the late Mr. William Felix Spurgin and Mrs. Alice Opal (Jonas) Spurgin. She departed from this life on Saturday, February 25, 2023 in Duncan, OK
Jessie was raised in the Caddo and Velma Alma area attending and graduating from Velma Alma High School in 1949. She married Mr. Marcus Bruce Pickelsimer in Marietta, OK in October of 1949 and to this union, they were blessed with two children, Marquetta and Bruce. Jessie was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, quilting, cooking for the family and family time. Marcus preceded her in death on November 8, 2005 and she was a member of the Shell Street Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Marcus; brother, Carl Spurgin; sister, Vaughn Pickelsimer, and a nephew, Larry Pickelsimer.
Jessie is survived by her daughter, Marquetta "Markie" Cates of Seguin, TX; son, Bruce Pickelsimer and wife Brenda of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Jeremy Cates, Chad Cates, Jennifer Wiebusch and husband Landon, and Christopher Pickelsimer; great grandchildren, Josh Cates and wife Valerie, Kelsey Cates, Jorden Cates and Ingrid, Sophia Mendez-Cates, Lucas Wiebusch and Logan Wiebusch; great great grandchildren, Evelyn Cates and Apollo Karter Cates; sister in law, Lynn Spurgin of Keller, TX; aunt, Cleo Spurgin of Velma; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Pickelsimer, Jeremy Cates, Chad Cates, Christopher Pickelsimer, Jorden Cates, and Josh Cates. Honorary bearers will be Mitchell Pickelsimer, Hunter Carroll, Andrew Carroll, and Landon Wiebusch.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
