Jerry Wayne Harris

Healdton - Graveside Services for Mr. Gerald "Jerry " Wayne Harris, 70 of Ardmore are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wed. February 8, 2017 at the Mount Olive Cemetery of Healdton. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wed. February 8, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 P.M. at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson.

Jerry was born on Dec. 4, 1946 at Santa Paula, CA to the late Mr. Limmie V. Harris and Mrs. Martha "Cricket" Melvina (Orsack) Harris. He departed this life on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Ardmore.

Jerry was raised in Ringling attending school there. He joined the Army National Guard at an early age and served honorably for several years as part of the Artillery Division. He and the former Ms. Janie White were united in marriage on October 24, 1965 at Denton, TX. They made their home within the Ardmore area, where Jerry worked many years as a carpenter and over the road truck driver. He built several structures in Ardmore as well as remodeling several homes. Jerry was one never to take shortcuts and always done the job right. As a truck driver he hauled horse trailers initially and later transported merchandise for Dollar General. Jerry loved woodworking as work and also as a hobbie. He also enjoyed fishing and most recently attended the Bethel Assembly of Ardmore.

Survivors include his wife Janie of the home; son, Chad Harris and his wife Christi of Ardmore; sister, Judy Choate of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Chad Harris, II, Noah Harris, Alexus Harris and Maddi Harris; great grandchildren, Shelbie Harris and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Honorary bearers Chad Harris II, Noah Harris, Brady Selig, Ricky Owens and Matt Sears.
