Ringling – Funeral Services for Mr. Jerry Wayne Allen, 68, of Ardmore are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Ringling United Methodist Church with Rev. John Marks officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.
Jerry Wayne Allen was born in Duncan, Ok on February 18, 1950 to the late Mr. Weldon “Digger” Morris Allen and Mrs. Mildred Mae (Meadows) Allen. He departed from this life on Thursday, March 22, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Jerry was raised at Fox attending Fox Schools through elementary and junior high years. He attended Ringling School during his high school years graduating in 1968. Following graduation, he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University of Durant, OK. Jerry worked at Uniroyal Tire plant for several years and later opened Sooner Paint and Body. He did a lot of specialty painting on motorcycles and race cars, notably the Coor’s “Silver Bullet”. Jerry was of the Methodist faith. He had a dynamic personality and never met a stranger. Jerry enjoyed riding motorcycles as well, riding many miles with Stuart Watkins. He will truly be missed by all.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Weldon and Mildred Allen; brothers, Quincy Allen and Howard Allen, and an infant sister.
Jerry is survived by his sons, Christopher Tod Allen of Baltimore, Maryland and Justin Allen of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Desirae Allen of Oklahoma City, OK; brothers, Harold Allen and wife Doris and Morris Allen all of Ringling; sister, Mollie Chesshir and husband Larry of Ardmore; 2 grandchildren, Dylan Allen and Samuel Allen; many nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and neighbors including Mike Powell and Bill and Mindy Higgins.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Rusty Allen, Jimmy Allen, Greg Allen, and Andrew Allen along with his sons, Christopher Tod Allen and Justin Allen
Honorary bearers are Starriett Watkins, Mike Powell, Bill and Mindy Higgins.
A family visitation is scheduled for Wednesday evening from 5-7 P.M. at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Ringling.
