WILSON – A private memorial service for Mr. Jerry Lawayne Acox is scheduled at Ringling Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home and Crematory of Ringling.
Jerry was born November 15, 1943 at Ringling, Oklahoma to the late Mr. Clark Curtis Acox and the late Mrs. Helen Ozell (Cryer) Acox. He departed this life Thursday, August 25, 2011 in Oklahoma City at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 10 days.
Jerry was raised in Rexroat, Oklahoma where he graduated from high school in 1961. He then attended college at Southwestern State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. There he received his bachelor degree in Industrial Arts. He began a teaching career at Ft. Cobb as a wood shop teacher. Jerry decided to work in the oilfield where he was employed by Dow Chemicals, now Schlumber J where he retired in 1989. He then became employed with Love Box Company in Oklahoma City and retired from there just three years ago. Jerry was a hard worker and enjoyed his hobby of woodworking.
Preceding him in death is his parents Mr. Clark Acox and Helen Acox, sister Mary, brothers: Danny, Richard, Charles and Don.
Survivors include a daughter Krystal Kirkland and husband Donald of Pocasset, Oklahoma, and son Kevin Acox of Minco, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, Ethon, Cole, and Hannah.
