Jerrel Ward Joy

Cheek - Memorial Services for Mr. Jerrel “Jerry” Ward Joy, 75, of Cheek are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, May 2, 2016 at Cheek Baptist Church of Cheek, OK with Rev. Morgan Ashworth officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander-Gray Crematory.
Mr. Jerrel Ward Joy was born June 1, 1940 at Cheek to the late Mr. Ira Joy and Mrs. Alice Daphne (Griffin) Joy. He departed this life Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Love County Health Center in Marietta.
Jerry was raised in Cheek, attending school at Lone Grove where he graduated from in 1958. He and the former Ms. Clara “Clancy” Kozial were married on October 11, 1962 at Marietta. Together they resided in Lone Grove and were blessed with three children, Bobby, Bill, and Dawn. Jerry was a truck driver for 48 years, driving for many companies such as the 7up Bottling Co., Ardmore Ambulance Services, Bacon Transport, Trans-con. Lines for 20 years, and Walmart also for 20 years. Jerry loved driving big trucks. He retired in 2009 after driving six million miles without any accidents. Jerry was also a member of the Cheek Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death was his Parents and a brother, John Joy.
Survivors include his wife Clancy Joy of the home; sons, Bobby Joy and wife Claudette, Bill Joy and wife Sandie all of Cheek; daughter, Dawn Rudd and husband Joe of Lone Grove; sister, Peggy Litts of Selmer, Tennessee; four grandchildren, April Rudd, Michael Rudd, Crystal Brewer, and Jacob Joy; four great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.
Honorary Bearers are Michael Rudd, Jacob Joy, Terry Litts, Mike Wilkins, John Foster, George Casey, Floyd Gordon, Troy Loard, and Ricky Langford.
