Jeria was born January 19, 1967, at Ardmore, OK to Mr. Jerry Lee Mears and Mrs. Phyllis Ann (Morrow) Mears. She departed this life Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at her home in Loco.

Jeria was raised in the Plainview area, where she attended local schools and graduated with pride as a member of the Plainview High School class of 1985. Her dedication to her education carried her forward as she pursued further studies at the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center, achieving her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  Throughout her career, Jeria demonstrated remarkable compassion and skill, dedicating herself to the care of others by working at various nursing homes and home health groups within the community. Jeria's commitment to her profession highlighted her nurturing spirit and her unwavering desire to support those in need.  On July 12, 2001, Jeria married Mr. Jesse Lee Acosta in Wichita Falls, Texas. Together, they created a warm and loving home in Dixie. Their life together was marked by love until Jesse's passing on January 14, 2011. Following his death, Jeria continued to embrace her role as a devoted mother, ensuring that their children were well-cared for and supported through life's journey.  Jeria found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in spending time with her grandchildren, who brought immense happiness to her heart. An avid fan of excitement, she loved visiting the casino, relishing the thrill of the games while surrounded by friends and family.
