Jeremy John Norton

March 13, 1975 — February 10, 2025

Wilson

Jeremy John Norton was born on Thursday, March 13, 1975, to his wonderful loving parents Johnny and Gwen Norton at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore. He went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, at the tender age of 49 years old.

Jeremy grew up in the Houston area in Tomball, Texas. His family moved to Lone Grove in 1990, and he graduated with the Lone Grove High School Class of 1993.

Jeremy worked in several industries – mainly truck driving – before medically retiring in 2015.

The life of Jeremy was full of unexpected twists and turns, often humorous or strange, making it feel like an exciting and unpredictable journey such as: always getting pencil erasers stuck in his ears and asking how far along are you? From making sure to address the most uncomfortable elephant in the room to always ruining movie plots for his friends and being an awesome wingman by fixing your hair in front of the ladies with a noogie. The man never met a stranger. If life gave the Best Secret Keeper award, it would NOT go to him. However, if life was a Seinfeld sitcom; he would definitely be our George Costanza with the exception that he loved animals, people and he had the biggest heart. And with his big heart, he started his greatest journey when he met Amy.

Jeremy married the love of his life Amy Carol Chamberlain on a beautiful autumn afternoon, November 10, 2007, at the Country Tabernacle in Cheek/Lone Grove. They made their home in Wilson and finally built their dream house in the summer of 2019. They were blessed with three children, Breven, Vanden and Rivelle. Jeremy was a loving and caring husband to Amy, and being a dad to the three lights of his life was his favorite job in the world. His love for his family was unmatched and always came first.

Jeremy loved the Lord, and he was never afraid to tell others about his Savior Jesus Christ. His humor was infectious, and he always had a joke going. He loved collecting sports cards and a few old cars that are NOT FOR SALE.

Jeremy is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mickie Adams, Jim Adams and Gwen Smith; paternal grandparents, J.B. and Pauline Norton; father-in-law, George Chamberlain; and stepfather-in-law, James Randolph.

He is survived by his loving wife, Amy of the home; children, Breven, Vanden and Rivelle of the home; parents, Johnny and Gwen Norton; brother, Joshua Norton and wife Alisha, and their children, Avery, Mackenzie, Sadie and Bellamy; sister, Christy Norton and her children, Blacee Willis and husband Anthony and their children (A’Vaun, A’Zay and A’Zaria), Easton and Weston Miller, Anaiah and Za’Kobii Norton; mother-in-law, Carolyn Randolph; sisters-in-law, Carrie Ficklin and husband Scott and their daughter Cassie, and Julie Thomas and husband Josh and their son Tristan; brother-in-law, Kent Fondren; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers are John Copeland, Josh Moff, Easton Miller, Weston Miller, Scott Ficklin, Josh Thomas, Gaylon Taylor and Gary Holt.

Honorary pallbearers are Joshua Norton, Breven Norton, Vanden Norton, Anthony Willis, Mike Rice, Jack Lowery and Michael King.
