Jeanetta Fern Lester

Ringling- Home Going services for Mrs. Jeanetta Fern (Reid) Lester, 82, of Grady, will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Ringling United Methodist Church with Rev. Les Bussell and Rev. Glynn Baker Officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ringling.

Jeanetta was born November 8, 1940, at Grady to the late Mr. John Reid and Mrs. Beulah J. (Werline) Reid. She went to her heavenly home on Monday, April 10, 2023, in Oklahoma City.

Jeanetta was raised at Grady where she attended her first years of school. She and her family were known for having a singing quartet, the Reid Quartet. After graduating from Grady, she attended High School at Ringling where she excelled as a sixteen-year-old Salutatorian, Senior, graduating High School in 1957. Soon after, she married Mr. Larry Lester on June 29, 1957, at the Ringling Baptist Church.

Together they moved to several communities following Larry’s employment including Seminole, Drumright, Duncan, Hutchinson, KS, and finally to Ardmore in 1985. After the passing of her parents, they moved back to her home place in Grady where they still resided. Jeanetta worked outside the home doing secretarial and clerical work for numerous companies but always had a deep involvement for her church. She served the Lord all her life in any capacity necessary, always enjoying singing in the choir and doing solos. The light of her life was always her grandchildren, never missing an activity or sporting event of theirs.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margie Waters; brother, John Reid; nephew, Johnny Reid.

Survivors include her loving husband Larry of the home; daughters, Debra Lester of Grady and Angela Wade and husband Brent of Ringling; son, Laine Lester, and wife Michelle of Tulsa; six grandchildren, Regan Steward and husband Destin, Cassandra Lester, Abigail Lester, Jacob Wade and fiancée Ivy McPherson, Travis Wade and fiancée Steelie Price, and Larin Wade; many nieces, nephews, and other family.

Casket bearers are Jacob Wade, Travis Wade, Destin Steward, Steven Reid, Danny Reid, and John David Lamb.

Honorary bearers are the men of the Ringling United Methodist Church.

Family visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Friday evening at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Ringling.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Ringling United Methodist Church.
