J.C. "Jake" Perkins

Ringling

Graveside service for J.C. “Jake” Perkins, Jr., 83, of Ringling, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery with Bro. Ronnie Carroll officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.

 Jake was born January 6, 1941, at Ringling, to the late Mr. J.C. Perkins, Sr. and Mrs. Hassie (Jackson) Perkins. He departed this life July 21, 2024, at Oklahoma City, OK.

 Jake was raised in Ringling where he attended school his adolescent years. He began his working years in the oilfield for many different companies. Jake found his lifelong career in painting homes and businesses continuing this career for around 30 years. He was a perfectionist in this work and did a job well done. Jake enjoyed fishing, hunting, attending estate sales and garage sales, and tinkering with old cars. 

 Preceding him in death are his parents, J.C. and Hassie; longtime companion, Lou Ruston; 3 brothers, Leck, Don, and Bill; sister, Mary Ellen.

 Survivors include his sisters, June Jett of Hohenwald, TN, JoAnn Winton of Sulphur, Clara Henry of Oklahoma City, and Laverne Waymire of Oklahoma City; brother, James Perkins of Healdton; stepdaughter, Sally Baer of Oklahoma City; numerous other family and friends.

 Pallbearers will be Tracey Oakley, Jerry Gallop, Ricky Taylor, and Bill McGowen.

 Viewing and visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Friday before services.
