On Saturday, October 8, 2022, Jason Todd Williams, mystical beat generator, vibe sorcerer, loyal friend, and loving father, passed away at the age of 45.
Jason was born on January 20, 1977 in Broken Arrow, OK to Ralph Quinton and Linda Sue (Robbins) Williams. They moved to multiple cities together, but settled in Houston, TX where Jason attended Alexander-Smith Academy until he graduated in 1995. He was the owner of Auracle Studios founded in 2010 where he produced, engineered, and mastered for a variety of musical artists such as King Hendricks, Obzesion, and Freddy Yi.
Jason was a self-taught drummer who began at the age of 13. As a percussionist, he was influenced by bands such as Pink Floyd, Skinny Puppy, Meat Beat Manifesto, and Crash Worship. After nearly 10 years of exploring and performing music of different genres with various musicians, the band A>S>H>S: Audible Stellar Hypnotic Situations was formed which included lifelong friends Scott Nichols and Jay Gonzalez in the seven-member ensemble. In 2006, A>S>H>S completed production and released their one and only album.
Jason learned to be an entrepreneur from both of his parents and knew from a young age that he would be his own boss. He understood the value of togetherness and the positive energy generated by like-minded individuals. Of the many warehouses that were home to the eccentric clan of artists Jason was a part of since 1996, two locations in Houston’s EaDo District were host to several legendary performance art events and music shows between 2001 and 2008. Providing space for fellow artists to share their talents in a non-conforming environment was of the utmost importance to him.
Jason was preceded in death by his father, Ralph, his mother, Linda, and his older brother, Monte. He is survived by his half-brothers Steve and David, his stepdaughter, Emia, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at Church-HTX, 6601 Sherman St, Houston, TX 77011 on Saturday, November 19th, 2022 at 3:00 pm. A family inurnment will be held at a later date.
